A non-runner is any vehicle that cannot drive itself onto a truck. That covers a car that will not start, one with no keys, a seized handbrake, a gearbox locked in park, a flat battery on an electric handbrake, or a project that has not moved in years. Why non-runners need different kit
A car that rolls freely can be winched straight onto a flatbed. A car with locked wheels cannot, and dragging it will flat-spot tyres, damage the gearbox or tear a bumper off. Wheel skates go under the locked wheels so the car rolls on them instead, and the winch pulls it up the deck in a straight line.
That is why it matters what you tell us on the call. Locked in park, seized brakes and no keys each change the kit and the time on site, and getting it right first time means one visit, not two.

Cars bought as non-runners from private sellers, vehicles that have sat on a driveway through a winter, projects going to and from restoration, cars with a failed electric parking brake, automatics that will not come out of park with a dead battery, and vehicles with lost keys going to a dealer or locksmith.

Paperwork and access
If you are not the registered keeper, have proof of purchase or the keeper's permission ready. If the car is on someone else's property, make sure they know we are coming. We will not move a vehicle where ownership is in question.
Non-runner recovery is £60 call-out + £1.50 per mile locally. A £40 skate fee applies when wheels are locked and a £40 winch fee when the car has to be winched. Both are confirmed on the phone before we set off. Long-distance moves are quoted as one fixed price for the route.
